Every venue has a best hour for photographs and a worst one. We visit yours before the wedding to find where the ceremony light falls, where the family portraits hold up and where the reception needs a little help, so the plan is built on the room rather than on a guess.
Houston weddings tend to be big-hearted: large families, long toasts, dance floors that do not want to close. We cover the formals efficiently so there is time for portraits in the last light, then stay with the party until the exit. If we have not worked AvantGarden yet we visit it before your day — light, timing, logistics — so nothing about the venue is a surprise on the morning of.
At AvantGarden the sun sets at 8:23 PM in June and 6:51 PM in October, with golden hour opening around 7:48 PM on a June evening and 6:55 PM in late September. Start a summer ceremony near 5:38 PM and you will still have the good light for portraits; in autumn move it an hour earlier. The full month-by-month table is on our Houston page.

A collection costs the same at every venue we work: travel is included and there are no venue fees. The prices below are pay-in-full (the payment plan adds $500 with half down at booking). These are the eight-hour collections; the four-, six- and ten-hour versions are on the collections page.

No. Olivia Layne Studios works nationwide and travel is part of every collection, so a wedding at AvantGarden is priced exactly like one in our own neighbourhood.
Most Houston couples book eight to twelve months out; peak spring and autumn dates go first. A signed agreement and your deposit hold the date, and the balance is due two weeks before the wedding.
